1. Toiletries – such as female sanitary products, makeup wipes, cotton wool, etc can all be detrimental for your home’s drainage system, they are a long term problem if a blockage occurs as they are not usually biodegradable.
2. Oils, fats and cooking grease – can be extremely problematic if poured down the sink, they can stick to the sides of pipes and once chilled can begin to form a solid compound, which can eventually block pipes.
3. Rice and Pasta – as everyone knows, when uncooked rice or pasta combines with water it expands , this can be a problem when uncooked rice is poured down a drain and water flows through , it mixes and then blocks off the pipe
